As Canadians, Lesley and John have always loved to travel south in the colder months to sail on the pristine waters of the Caribbean. So it only made sense that a few years ago, they purchased a 47 foot Luxury Lagoon Catamaran in Belize. ‘S/V Aubisque’ has been sailing the islands of Belize for over 10 years. SailBelize was born during one of their trips in the islands with their Captain, Ish Badillo. Captain Ish has sailed the waters in and around Belize since he was a small boy growing up on Caye Caulker, the second largest of the barrier islands (and our favorite!). During a stopover in Caye Caulker they noticed there were many charter companies offering a variety of trips, but there was a distinct lack of luxury tour options. John and Lesley met with several tour companies on various visits to the island and hit it off with Caye Caulker Native Tours. The owners have been operating charter services on the island for over 40 years. They were a perfect fit for SailBelize based on their history on the island, knowledge of the waters and their tour offerings. We decided to merge the two companies in order to be able to offer a variety of snorkeling experiences. SailBelize Native Tours will now be able to offer both Catamaran Sailing tours and Speedboat tours to Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley. The latter are areas that our Catamaran, Aubisque is not allowed to go due to her size.
Together with Ramon, Ilya, Captain Ish and the rest of the crew at Caye Caulker Native Tours, SailBelize Native Tours will deliver some of the best Speedboat snorkeling tours and Sunset Sailing and Dinner experiences in Belize! From their Half and Full Day Speedboat Tours to Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley, to their Famous Sunset Spectacular Dinner Cruise SailBelize Native Tours will offer sailing, snorkeling and dining experiences unmatched in the islands.
